Over the weekend, I heard someone talking about back-to-school shopping, and I thought, How can that be here already?
It always seems that once Rodeo Weekend is over, it automatically starts to feel like fall— even though it is still August. The air feels a little crisper, the crops are beginning to turn that beautiful golden colour, and even the odd leaf is starting to change. Then there is the countdown to going back to school—and, of course, those dreaded school lunches!
Even here at St. Paul’s, it feels like fall is upon us. We return to worship, council and committee meetings begin again, and the calendar starts filling up with groups, activities and events.
But with all that being said, it is always good to be back together. There is something comforting about finding our way back into the routines and rhythms that we all seem to appreciate after a summer break.
Whatever your fall is beginning to look like, I hope it brings you comfort and joy as you slowly work your way back into the busyness that comes with the season.
May these next few weeks be filled with good things, familiar faces, and plenty of moments to pause and appreciate the blessings around us.
