Livng on a Prayer…

It is hard to believe that we are already past the middle of August- summer days are getting shorter, the evenings are getting cooler, but this also means that we are back to Sunday Worship! On August 23, 2026 we will be gathered again after a summer break to join in worship, and we are going back to the basics.

During our worship service we will use all our senses as we talk about prayer. We are going to dive into what prayer may mean to each of us and investigate how come prayer is easy and how come sometimes its hard!

For some of us, prayer might suggest folded hands, bowed heads, and familiar words spoken in church. For others, prayer might be something much more personal—a quiet conversation with God while sitting at the kitchen table, driving down the road, working in the garden, or lying awake in the middle of the night.

Prayer can be all of these things because at its heart, prayer is simply a relationship with God. It is making space to speak, to listen, to give thanks, to ask for help, or sometimes just to sit quietly in God’s presence. The best part of all this, however, is that there is no perfect way to pray.

We don’t need fancy words. We don’t need to know exactly what to say. We don’t have to be in church. We don’t even have to know what we believe at every moment.

Sometimes prayer is as simple as, “God, help me.” or maybe its just “Thank You”

Sometimes it is, “I don’t understand what’s happening.”, and sometimes all we can muster together is “God, I’m here.”

God hears them all.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday and I pray you have a great weekend.
